Buckingham, IL - Ronald Paul Schneider, age 88, of Buckingham passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at his home. He was born May 28, 1937 in Norton Township, the son of William & Iren (LeCocq) Schneider.

Ronald worked at Roper Corporation for 27 years. He owned and operated Herscher Real Estate for over 50 years. Ronald was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, Herscher American Legion Post 795, and the Will County VFW. He farmed in rural Buckingham. Ronald loved to play cards.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany 35th Field Artillery, 24th Infantry Division.

Ronald was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher.

Surviving are two brothers, Dennis (Janice) Schneider of Bonfield and Jerome Schneider of Buckingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert Schneider Sr., Lionel Schneider, and Gerald Schneider; and infant sister, Marilyn Schneider.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Ron Nietzke will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Herscher.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
