Bourbonnais, Illinois - Richard D. "Dick" Williams, age 86, of Bourbonnais and formerly of Kankakee, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home. Richard was born on June 29, 1938, in Elliott, IL, the son of Herman and Lila Williams. Richard's parents lost their lives in a car accident in 1949. Richard married Marjorie J. Sirois on February 23, 1963, at St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne. Marjorie preceded Richard in death on August 1, 2013.
Richard was one of 13 children. In 1949, Richard moved to Kankakee with his brother Doe and Audrey Williams. He was a member of the Jays Little League Team which placed third in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of Kankakee High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was commissioned on a destroyer in Japan for 4 years until 1961.
Richard went on to become a welder and pipefitter for 40 years.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews, including one special niece, Jane (Kirk) Brais of Bourbonnais; and one special nephew, Jimmy (Nancy) Williams of Richardson, TX.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his parents; one nephew, Ed Williams; six brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Pastor Andy Hamilton of Adventure Church will officiate the service.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
Memorials may be made to Uplifted Care Hospice.
