Nancy M. Hanes, age 86 of Bourbonnais passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Ascension Heritage Village, Kankakee. She was born June 9, 1938, in Dwight, the daughter of Earl and Marie (Jepson) Brorsen. Nancy married Alpheus "Al" Hanes on June 14, 1958, at American Lutheran Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Nancy was a secretary for Bourbonnais School District 53 and Kankakee District III for many years. She was a member of the Secretary Club for school personnel.

Nancy loved reading and playing golf. She was very involved with her family and friends.

Nancy was a congregant of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Kankakee.

Surviving is one sister, June (Doyle) Johnson of Florence, AZ; two brothers, Andy (Kathy) Brorsen of Bourbonnais, Donald (Lois) Brorsen of Houston, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents, two sisters, Norma "Cooki" Akins and Margaret "Peggy" Meents.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee.
