Maryville, IL - Gloria Colleen (Owens) Brady, 78, of Maryville, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born in Manteno, IL on August 18, 1946, to Clifford and Wanda Owens who, along with her son James Edward Leverett, preceded her in death. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law John and Sue (Owens) Piepenbrink, daughters Terri (Leverett) Andrews and her husband Nick, along with Scott and Tricia (Leverett) Blackard. Finally, she is survived by her four grandchildren, Lindsey (Andrews) Throm, Hailey Andrews and her husband Joe Beavis, Danielle Blackard, and Blake Blackard. Additional surviving family members include John and Crystal (Piepenbrink) Schmidt along with their three children Kypton, Kensley, and Kutler as well as Brad and Crista Piepenbrink and their children Anna and Owen. Colleen received her bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington State and a master's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Colleen was a music and computer teacher in the Alton School District. She also taught at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the Bridges Program. Colleen was known for her amazing piano skills which she often demonstrated at locations such as the Edison House Fort Meyers, Florida Breckenridge Golf and Tennis Club in Estero Florida, Gringo Jones in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as her retirement community Keystone at Magnolia Commons in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
