Earl (Sonny) Hutson, age 86, of Bonfield passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

He was born on November 12, 1938 in Kankakee, the son of Frank and Marie Hutson. He married Audrey Parola in 1961 and together they had four children, Don, Dale, Danny, and Dock.

Earl graduated from Kankakee High School in 1957 and proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served from 1957 to 1961. He was also a retired employee of Birmingham Steel Corporation in Bourbonnais.

Earl was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed golf and was a member of many senior leagues at Aspen Ridge Golf Course. One of his most cherished memories was a worm-burner hole-in-one at Shamrock Golf Course that he recounted at every opportunity.

Surviving are his four sons, Don (Karen) Hutson of Princeton, TX, Dale (Lisa) Hutson of Kankakee, Danny (Jodi) Hutson of Bonfield, and Dock Hutson (Lisa Metzger) of Bradley; two sisters, Donna Barrera of Grant Park, and Sherry Drazy of Aroma Park; six grandchildren, Cory Silsbee, Cody Runner, Ashley Munson, Amy Beck, Ryan Hutson, and Nicole Lagace; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his his mother and father, wife, and sister Billie Bigler of Bradley, as well as two brothers-in-law, Benny Barrera and Dick Drazy.

Per his wishes there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring when his ashes are laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
