Donald "Donnie" Wayne Haggard Jr., age 68, of DuQuoin, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 9:33 p.m., in Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Donnie was born on June 26th, 1956, in Kankakee, IL, a son to Donald and Mollie (Heisler) Haggard Sr. On June 30, 1979, he married Sheila Rettell in Kankakee, IL. He worked in construction for his entire life as a contractor, carpenter, and field assessor for Perry County. He also owned and operated Haggard Custom Siding Inc. for many years. He enjoyed working, building, fishing, hunting, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, riding his Harley Davidson, and traveling with his family. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially going to his grandchildren's sporting events. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sheila Haggard of DuQuoin, IL; his mother Mollie Hurst of Paulton; one son, Aaron (Lacey) Haggard; one daughter, Afton Haggard of DuQuoin, IL; two sisters, Rosie (Larry) Oldham of Clifton, IL; and Sue (Dave) Allan of Fairbury, IL; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Foiles of Kempton, IL and Debbie (Gene) Gulley of Bourbonnais, IL; five grandchildren Kalena Clark, Caiden Cook, Charlee Haggard, Kingston Haggard, and Levi Haggard; three dogs, Ziggy, Loki, and Ollie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Haggard Sr.; in-laws, Clifford "Sonny" and Darlene Rettell; two sisters, Janey Tuey, and Cindy Beaumont and brother-in-law, Wayne Lowe; stepfather, Herbert Hurst.

Memorial services will be held Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL, on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Chase McKinnis officiating.

Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL, on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
