Kankakee, IL - Craig Alan Hale, 72, of Bourbonnais, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, IL.

Craig was born April 12, 1953, in Gary, Indiana to Lavonia and Claude Hale. He graduated from Grant Park High School in 1971 before serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He married Sharon McKinstry on December 7, 1972, in Grant Park, Illinois

Craig was employed for nearly 30 years for the Illinois State Department of Mental Health in the Transportation Department. After retiring, he continued driving school buses for 17 years. He also attended Kankakee Community College evening classes for many years and received multiple associate degrees.

He enjoyed mechanics work, doing various projects around the house, building and utilizing computers and software applications, and was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan.

Craig is survived by his wife, Sharon of 52 years of marriage. He was the father of four children, Michelle Hale of Findlay, Ohio, Michael Hale of Mesa, Arizona, and Justin Hale of Wauconda, Illinois. He has three grandchildren, Jake, Rachel, and Nick. He also has several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Lavonia and father Claude, and one son Craig Claude Jr.

A devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend; Craig will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Jensen Funeral Home, 203 N. Locust Street, Momence.
